Ethical Charter

International Modeling Foundation

Effective: February 6, 2026

Our Mission

The International Modeling Foundation exists to establish and uphold ethical standards across the global modeling industry. We believe every model deserves to work in an environment free from exploitation, harassment, and abuse.

This Ethical Charter represents our commitment to creating lasting, positive change through verification, accountability, and collective action.

Core Principles

1Human Dignity

Every individual in the modeling industry—regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, body type, or experience level—possesses inherent dignity that must be respected. We reject all forms of exploitation, objectification, and dehumanization.

2Safety First

Physical and psychological safety is non-negotiable. All working environments must be free from harassment, assault, coercion, and intimidation. Reporting mechanisms must exist and be accessible without fear of retaliation.

3Informed Consent

Consent must be freely given, specific, informed, and revocable. Models have the right to understand and agree to all aspects of their work, including usage rights, compensation, and any digital or AI applications of their likeness.

4Transparency

Business practices must be transparent. This includes clear contracts, honest communication about job requirements, fair and timely payment, and disclosure of all fees and commissions.

5Accountability

All industry participants must be accountable for their conduct. Violations of ethical standards will result in consequences, and patterns of misconduct will be documented and addressed through our enforcement system.

Universal Standards

All IMF-certified individuals and organizations commit to:

  • Treating all individuals with respect and professionalism
  • Maintaining zero tolerance for harassment, discrimination, and abuse
  • Honoring contractual obligations and paying promptly
  • Providing clear, written agreements before work begins
  • Respecting the right to refuse work without retaliation
  • Protecting minors with enhanced safeguarding measures
  • Cooperating with IMF investigations when required
  • Never retaliating against those who report concerns

Special Protections

Minor Protection

Models under 18 receive enhanced protections including mandatory guardian presence, restricted working hours, age-appropriate content requirements, and additional consent procedures. Exploitation of minors results in permanent certification revocation.

Digital Identity Rights

Models own their digital identity. Any AI-generated or digital representation of a model's likeness requires explicit, documented consent. Unauthorized use of digital twins is a serious violation subject to enforcement action.

Vulnerable Individuals

Additional care must be taken with individuals who may be vulnerable due to immigration status, financial circumstances, language barriers, or other factors. Exploitation of vulnerability is strictly prohibited.

Enforcement

This Charter is enforced through our reporting and enforcement system:

  • 1Reporting: Anyone can report concerns through our anonymous or named reporting system
  • 2Investigation: Reports are reviewed by IMF staff with appropriate confidentiality protections
  • 3Action: Violations result in warnings, suspensions, or revocation depending on severity
  • 4Appeals: Those subject to enforcement action may appeal within 30 days

Our Commitment

By becoming IMF-certified, you join a community committed to building a safer, more professional modeling industry. Together, we can create the standards and accountability the industry has long needed.
